Product Innovation Workshop -“Sparking Innovation: The Game Changers of the Healthcare Sector”

The second Product Innovation Workshop – “Sparking Innovation: The Game Changers of the Healthcare Sector” was co-organized by Hong Kong Electrical Appliance Industries Association, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Industries Association , held on 17 May during Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Suppliers Fair.

 

Three honorable speakers were invited to share their views and knowledge on product innovation to our audience. Ms. Hanne Caspersen, Creative Director Trends of Philips Design, flied from Amsterdam to Hong Kong to attend the workshop and shared the innovation strategies of Philips. Hanne quoted different product development examples, which showed how Philips connects innovation with people and reflects their brand spirit. Dr. Gabriel Tong, Founder of TOTEX and IDMA, has rich experience in product innovation and he shared the product innovation strategies in theoretical angle. Dr. Tong also presented his analysis on the product innovation strategies of the four studying companies in this project. Whilst, Ir Prof Andros Chan Ling-ming, Chairman of Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Industries Association shared his experience in applying product innovation into medical and healthcare products. Through this workshop, Hong Kong appliances manufacturing SMEs are able to enhance their product innovation capabilities so as to capture the smart appliances market.
